With unavoidable waste being an everyday occurrence due to faulty and rejected packs along with returns etc., Leu-Tronic have designed their product recovery system to allow a clean separation of product from its packaging material.

The range of machines makes it possible to accommodate most requirements.  Smaller units from the PACKSAVER range have a capacity of handling 60-80 pouches/min, which can be synchronised with an inline packaging machine seeing “real time” recovery.  Larger stand alone units can rework a capacity of up to 400kg/hr.

Some examples of the type of products that can be reworked from sachets, pouches & stickpacks are chocolate bars, boxes of chewing gum, sweets, tea, coffee, biscuits and snacks as well as any type of powder/granular product.

Instead of working with knives, adjustable tear-off rails are used to open the packages.  The rotation of the rails and the special shape of the assorting chamber produce an air stream which blows the empty wrapping material out of the machine. Product is transported through to a vibrating sieve where an exhausting device separates out smaller wrapper particles from the product, which can then be re-processed and used again.
